Cincinnati drafted Andre Smith at #6 in the first round to fill a HUGE need in the offensive line. No matter the Sugar Bowl agent fiasco and the terrible days leading up to the draft this guy is going to be a huge product for years to come. He has the intangibles to open up holes for Cedric and most importantly block for our centerpiece, Carson Palmer.
Andre Smith will make an immediate impact beefing up a pathetic line from last year that ranked 30th in the NFL. He is a large 6'4'' 330 pound round mound of run and pass blocking.
The perfect pick for the Cincinnati Bengals. the CSF Grade A
In the second round the Bengals stole a linebacker from USC. Ray Maualuga was projected to be mid to at the very worst late first round selection but he kept falling and falling right to the Bengals with the #6 pick in the second round.
We were blown away when St. Louis took Lauranitis earlier in round 2 and passed on Maualuga. I was shocked! But too bad for the Rams and thank goodness for the Bengals. That pick was much like the first round if Aaron Curry fell to the Bengals "A NO BRAINER"! Pair Rivers and Maualuga together and Bengal fans will have an unbelievable time watching an exciting defense!!
Rey is a fierce, mean, stout 6'2'' 260 Linebacker that will hit the gaps and make plays against the run. Watching his film I suspect he will need a bit to develop in the passing game but with Mike Zimmer's coaching and tuteledge he will make an instant impact!!
Cincinnati could not let this pick go by without scooping him up! With the Centers off the board it made perfect sense!! the CSF Grade A+
Can't wait till tomorrow and see what the Bengals do with their unbelievable 9 picks! I still see Shonn Greene from Iowa is still on the board! I hope we are able to grab a quality runner to be Cedric's sidekick!
